Betty LaDuke
Virtual Opening Reception
Friday, May 8, 2020
Artist Betty LaDuke shares new thoughts and inspiration for current work.

“Feeding seagulls many layers of paint became my passion.”
This Virtual Opening Reception will also feature Betty’s sketchbook journey south of the border with selected images from her soon to be released book Migrants, Border Lands and Social Justice, An Artist’s Journeys, published by Africa World Press.

“The artist’s job is to be a witness to his time in history.”
-Robert Rauschenberg
In Border Lands, a Sketchbook Journey 2019, Betty LaDuke allows us to travel with her as she experiences both sides of the Arizona/Mexico border. She visits with migrants and asylum seekers, individuals and families from Mexico and Central America as they desperately seek the American Dream of safety and opportunity.
Liberty Arts is grateful to Africa World Press for allowing us to bring you this sneak peek. Migrants, Border Lands and Social Justice will be available through Africa World Press soon. To purchase the book visit them here.
