Sam Hernandez

Liberty Arts is proud to present Sam Hernandez, Many Rivers to Cross, an exhibition running from October 22- November 26, 2021.

Sam is a sculptor primarily known for his innovative work in wood, and will also be
displaying two-dimensional oils on board. Hernández achieves poetic yet vigorous free-
standing abstractions through such widely-varying tools as African adzes, Japanese
saws, Native American crook knives, and high-powered sandblasters.

Recipient of numerous honors including a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist
Fellowship, a Senior Fulbright Scholar Award, and Silicon Valley’s Artist Laureate,
Hernandez’s work has been featured in numerous books, exhibition catalogues, and
articles, and has been shown in museum and gallery exhibitions internationally.

The community is invited to the Opening Reception Friday Oct. 22 from 5-7pm with
music on the Plaza featuring Rick Garrett on guitar. Social-distancing is requested both
inside and outside the gallery.
